Scene 2: The Architect & The Builder
Ross Hurston believed every problem had a solution.
Jacob Lord seemed determined to prove him wrong.
Their arguments had become almost legendary around the Alpha Builders job site. Ross saw Jacob as stubborn. Jacob thought Ross took everything far too seriously.
But beneath all that friction was another kind of tension—one neither man seemed willing to acknowledge.
Today, their latest disagreement was about to change everything.
Ross glanced down at the plans and then back at Jacob.
"You moved the support."
"By three inches."
"Three inches matters."
Jacob folded his arms, clearly enjoying Ross's frustration.
"Maybe we're not really arguing about the project."
Ross stopped.
For once, he didn't have an immediate answer.
All the irritation between them suddenly felt like something else entirely—something that had been building for weeks.
"Then what are we arguing about?" Ross asked.
Jacob stepped closer.
"Whether you actually hate me."
Ross couldn't help smiling.
"I don't."
The answer changed the atmosphere between them.
