Confession: my real name isn't Eddie V or MuscleCumLover. And, just like most people who have created a presence in adult entertainment, I wouldn't assume anyone is using their real name. However, I would assume that once you picked a moniker, you would stick with it. Or at least something similar so you would easily be recognized. Strangely, that’s not the case. And today, I am here to cover a few examples of guys who seem to enjoy changing their porn name when working with different studios or sites.

From a branding perspective, you would think once you have a stage name you would make sure to use it for as long as possible so that fans around the world would recognize you. Imagine if we lived in a world where our beloved Caesar went by different names for each studio and site he worked with? I would’ve easily missed some of my favorite scenes of his. [EDITOR'S NOTE: I guess you never heard of Derek Michaels, then… -ACE]

So, I’ve always wondered why so many actors change their porn name so easily. Is it an issue with their contract? Who knows? The only understandable exceptions to this standard are A) if men are competing professionally in bodybuilding competitions B) pornstars that cross over between straight, bi and gay roles. Besides that, I’d love to hear from some performers as to why they switch names so often. Examples below:

Damien White aka DamiAn White aka Brad aka Dilinger

Our first example is an active actor that I first saw on Beefcake Hunter. Not only did this break the fantasy that men on the site were real amateur actors but it was annoying that in other sites Damien White went by Damian White (changing only the “e” to an “a”). Hopefully that was a typo haha.

Mateo Jerez aka Matteo

Another example where a technical spelling change was unnecessary is newcomer Mateo Jerez. Mateo (as is written online at The Guy Site) now goes by Matteo on Sean Cody. With or without the extra “t” makes little difference, so just pick one porn name spelling and stick to it lol.

Valentino aka Jaxton Wheeler

This example actually proves my point on the necessity behind a successfully branded name and porn persona. Today, Jaxton Wheeler is a household name to any occasional gay porn viewer. But once upon a time, Jaxton filmed with ChaosMen under the pseudonym Valentino. Today, he has filmed with almost every site and studio out there under the successful Wheeler porn name and thank god he hasn't changed it again.

Malec at Corbin Fisher / Joe Mason at Gay Hoopla

If changing names was one thing, removing and adding last names is another. Our next example comes from the amaetur porn world where we have Malec aka Joe Mason creating content at Corbin Fisher and Gay Hoopla.

Nasty….Yes Nasty

Our last example has built a successful resume spanning over 13 years. And while I do applaud his work, I also shake my head at the porn name choices he has made. Debuting in 2008 with Sean Cody, we have Skip. Skip is definitely a name to stick with but since then has jumped from using Branson Taramino to today's current version: Jim Nasty. Yes….Nasty lol

Stu from Sean Cody aka Jake Burton

Jake Burton is one of the exceptions to the standard: ”if men are competing professionally in bodybuilding competitions”. Porn name Stu’s real name may just be Jake Burton and I have nothing to say about him. He’s just pretty to look at so enjoy!
